CIMZIA is used to lessen the signs and symptoms of moderately to severely active
Crohn's disease in adults who have not been helped enough by usual treatments.
Are you ready to take control of your Crohn's? Have other therapies failed to give
you the relief you are looking for? Then it may be time to talk to your doctor about
whether CIMZIA may be a good choice for providing lasting Crohn's symptom relief.
CIMZIA can provide lasting Crohn's symptom relief
In a clinical trial, more patients who responded and continued on CIMZIA versus
placebo showed noticeable improvement in signs and symptoms of moderate to severe
Crohn's disease at 26 weeks. Nearly ½ of those patients who continued to take CIMZIA
were in remission at 26 weeks.
In a different clinical trial, more patients on CIMZIA showed significant improvement
in signs and symptoms at 6 weeks and 26 weeks versus placebo.
You may find that your experience with CIMZIA is similar to that of people in clinical
trials; however individual results may vary.
Serious infections have happened in patients taking CIMZIA, including tuberculosis
(TB) and infections caused by viruses, fungi, or bacteria that have spread throughout
the body. Some patients have died from these infections.
CIMZIA offers flexible administration
The recommended dose of CIMZIA for adults with CD is 400 mg (given as 2 shots that
are 200 mg each) initially and at Week 2 and Week 4. So, the first 3 doses of CIMZIA
are taken every 2 weeks and consist of 2 shots with each dose. After the first 3
doses, CIMZIA can be taken as one 200 mg shot every 2 weeks or two 200 mg shots
every 4 weeks. You and your doctor should decide which dosing is best for you.

CIMZIA prefilled syringe, designed in partnership with OXO Good Grips®
|
- If you are able to give yourself
shots, and it is appropriate, you may use the CIMZIA prefilled syringe at home after
you have been trained by a doctor or nurse in proper injection technique. It is
also possible for a friend or loved one to be trained to help you with the shot.
- If you are not able to give yourself shots,
and your doctor determines self-injection is not appropriate for you, your doctor may recommend
in-office administration by a healthcare provider. If your CIMZIA prescription is not contained
in a prefilled syringe, but rather is a lyophilized powder for reconstitution, CIMZIA should be
prepared and injected by a healthcare provider.
