Administration Options

CIMZIA offers multiple administration options. Explore the information below to decide which is appropriate for your patients.

Administration by a healthcare provider

The CIMZIA lyophilized powder should be prepared and administered by a heathcare provider. Patients can be given CIMZIA in your office, or UCB may provide a home health nurse to administer CIMZIA in patients' homes.

Self-administration using a prefilled syringe

For patients who are capable of self-administration, UCB worked with OXO GOOD GRIPS® to design a prefilled syringe.

Recommended dosing

The recommended initial dose of CIMZIA for adults with moderate to severe CD is 400 mg (given as 2 subcutaneous injections of 200 mg) initially and at Weeks 2 and 4. In patients who obtain a clinical response, the recommended maintenance regimen is 400 mg every 4 weeks.

CIMZIA is indicated for reducing signs and symptoms of Crohn's disease and maintaining clinical response in adult patients with moderately to severely active disease who have had an inadequate response to conventional therapy.
