What To Expect
Taking CIMZIA: A Quick Reference Guide
Once you and your doctor have agreed that CIMZIA is the right choice for you, we can help. Find the relevant step in your treatment experience below. You can also enroll in CIMplicity® for nurse support or call a CIMplicity nurse at 1-844-UCBNurse (1-844-822-6877).*
CIMplicity Nurse Support does not provide you with medical advice and does not replace the care of your doctor. Any questions related to your individual treatment plan or medical treatment will be referred back to your treating healthcare provider.
Before You Begin Treatment With CIMZIA
Your doctor will let you know if there are any tests needed prior to starting CIMZIA, such as tuberculosis (TB) or a hepatitis B test. You should not start any biologic therapy if you have an active infection or recently received a live vaccine. Always consult your doctor if you have questions about any tests or when you should or should not take your medication.
You and your doctor will determine whether you will self-inject CIMZIA at home or have CIMZIA administered by a healthcare professional at your doctor's office.
Getting Started With Treatment
Getting your prescription
- If you will be injecting CIMZIA at home, find out if you're eligible for the CIMplicity Savings Program.†
- Arrange to have your first prescription filled and sent either to your home for self-injection or to your local pharmacy for pickup. If you are eligible for the CIMplicity Savings Program, you will need your co-pay card number when speaking to the specialty pharmacy.
When it's time to inject
- Take CIMZIA as prescribed by your doctor: This includes starter doses and maintenance doses.
- Taking CIMZIA at home: If you and your doctor decide that you will self-inject at home, your prescription will come in a prefilled syringe and you will receive injection training from your healthcare provider.
- Record the date and injection site of each CIMZIA injection in a calendar.
- If you will be receiving CIMZIA injections at your doctor’s office, click here to learn more about how to prepare for your visit.
Treatment Tips
Always follow your doctor's instructions. For example, if prescribed starter doses of CIMZIA, take both injections as prescribed by your doctor—do not skip taking one of these injections, even if you are feeling better.
Make sure to always write down the dates and locations of your CIMZIA injections in your calendar, and sign up for free medication reminders by enrolling in CIMplicity. If available, consider scheduling an automatic refill of your medication through your pharmacy.
Take advantage of our CIMplicity Savings Program or other financial assistance. Eligibility criteria and maximum limits apply. Additional terms and conditions may apply.†
